Heading Home

December 9, 2023

Shannon AirportAfter a fun week, it is now time to head home. We checked out at 5:45 AM, and headed to the Aldgate tube stop which had been our main portal to the rest of London. Onto the Elizabeth Line that will take us to Heathrow. Terminal 2 is the one that we need. We got off the tube and went to the Aer Lingus lounge after going through security. They had light breakfast things available to eat: yogurt, cereal, danish, and drinks. We looked at the board, and our flight did not have the gate listed.Landing

We left the lounge about 9:00 am to go wait for our flight. The board kept saying that the gate would be posted later. Finally posted for gate A21. We walked down, and waited to board the plane. We would have about 45 minutes when we landed to catch our flight to Boston. A lady was waiting in Shannon and directed us down another hallway to get inspected again. That went very quickly, since it was just us going to Boston in this inspection area.

We got to gate 108, and waited since our flight was delayed just a bit from the fog in Shannon. We boarded the plane, and it was not full. It was a very smooth flight back to Boston. We caught the Logan Express bus to Framingham, and Amy was there not too long after we arrived. She drove us home. Back in the US.
